The boat was designed and built by Edwin A. Cruz Romero back in 1987. Edwin is a native sailor of Puerto Rico and has dedicated his life to a renowned career in boat building as well as sailing. Construction of this one of a kind vessel is crafted from native "majaguilla", a red mangrove like tree that is abundant to the coastal shores of Puerto Rico. Other natural woods and synthetic materials are also encompassed within its structure. Its design integrates a fusion of native "Tortola Sloop" with a "Nativo", a wooden sloop characteristic of traditional fishing boats from Puerto Rico. This sloop has been a champion on variety of regattas in PR and BVI, including Foxy's Wooden Boat Regatta.
