Gustav Wilmerding - Race Results

Updated: Dec 12, 2022

In near perfect conditions a small field pitched multihulls against monohulls stretching the limitations of the CSA rating system. An 11am start saw a closely fought battle between two 31 ft Corsairs for first place. After several lead changes around the Thatches, Trike lead by 2 minutes. The leg out around Sandy Cay, however, saw Ting regain the lead and hold this until the finish.

First place went to Ting driven by Chris Haycraft in 2hrs 48minutes and second place went to Trike helmed by Sam Talbot, third place (and first in the monohulls) went to Wanna Be driven by Ted Reshetiloff who nevertheless put in a credible time against the faster Corsairs.

To finish the year and encourage youth sailing in the BVI the West End yacht Club presented a check for $1000 to KATS to sponsor a program of sail training for 10 children.

Thanks to the Race Committee and all our sponsors for making this possible.
